Description

Linköping is the 5th biggest city in Sweden. It is the city of SAAB and JAS39 Gripen airplanes. The city also has the best ice hockey team in Sweden, Linköping Hockey Club (LHC). Linköping is also famous for the manufacturing of chocolate and candy from a company called Cloetta. And another thing that is common in Linköping is people riding bikes, everywhere all the time, no matter what weather it is. -10 degrees and a snow storm won’t stop the slightly insane locals from riding their bike to school or work or even to go clubbing!

History

The city of Linköping is 722 years old. In 1598 there was a battle at Stångebro, although there is actually nothing that can prove it. Two years after, in 1600, there was the Linköping blood bath. In 1700 there was a big fire that ruined most of the city except for a few stone houses, the castle and the cathedral.
